Speakers, exhibits, prizes, health screenings and health book signings are all part of the Healthy Breakfast Showcase tomorrow between 7:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. at La Quinta Inn & Suites in Tacoma. Cost is $15 for members and $25 for non-members of the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber.
The Shelton-Mason County Chamber's "After Hours" will be held Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Everett Hughes Office, at 821 W. Railroad, Suite D. The Kent Chamber will host a Business After Hours at MultiCare Medical Group, where attendees can learn more about MultiCare, a leading health organization serving patients at 93 locations in Pierce, South King, Kitsap and Thurston counties. The Kent clinic has been providing quality health care in South King County for 60 years. The event will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday at the MultiCare Medical Group clinic in Kent. RSVP is due tomorrow.
Internal Revenue Service's Taxpayer Assistance offices in Tacoma and Olympia will be open on Saturday to help people in the area file a tax return in order to receive their Economic Stimulus Payment, commonly referred to as a rebate. Location information and a list of what filers should bring can be found at IRS.gov.
The tentative adoption of an L&I rule that calls attention to the fact that working in the heat can cause illness, disability and even death is scheduled for June 4 following five public hearings statewide. The South Sound meeting will be held April 28 at 1 p.m. at the Comfort Inn, located at 1620 74th Ave. S.W. in Tumwater.
