Nov. 18, 2009 at 1:05pm Viking Bank will consolidate Pierce County branchesViking Bank has decided to combine two of its South Sound locations. The financial institution will be relocating its Tacoma branch from South Sprague to Puyallup South Hill on Nov. 20. "We've been working on providing better facilities for quite some time," said Emily Wiseman, the bank's marketing director. "With our lease for Tacoma coming due, it provided an opportunity to re-evaluate our distribution system. And the facility just didn't meet our branching standards and was not a convenient location." Viking Bank's Puyallup branch is located on South Meridian next to the new Sonic restaurant and a new full-service Puyallup branch is under construction. "Tacoma branch team members are relocating to Puyallup, so (their) customers will continue to have familiar care for their accounts," Wiseman said. "And our remote deposit product (Viking Virtual Banker) allows our business customers to make deposits from their place of business, so a trip to the bank isn't necessary."
