Emily Cook

As a Marketing Consultant, Emily helps clients connect with the South Sound Business Community through face-to-face events, print, online and out-of-the-box mediums.

A Puget Sound native, Emily graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a B.A. in Communication, Public Relations emphasis. She is active in Rotary #8, Go Red American Heart Association, is a Past President of the Tacoma Chapter of NACE (National Association of Catering Executives), and stays involved with the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce, and several other community organizations. Emily is also one of the founding members that brought Puget Sound American Marketing Association (#PSAMAss) regularly into to the South Sound.

Emily has over a decade of local marketing experience, including international sales for JMTek, as a membership representative for the TPC Chamber, Director of Marketing & Convention Services for a local hotel chain and Director of Business Development for Rusty George Creative.

Emily first joined the Business Examiner in 2006, where she helped grow BE events, while managing national and local advertising accounts. In mid 2011, after about a 18-month leave, Emily found herself back at her Business Examiner home.

She has also carved a humble niche for herself singing the national anthem for local business events, fundraisers, etc. when called upon.

In 2009, Emily and her husband Brandon welcomed Carson Cook into their family. Spending time with friends and family and giving back to the community are key elements in her life balance.
