James Nesbit, ‘76 Mortgage Banker/ Branch Manager, National City Mortgage

If you were a car, what model and make would you be and why?

I would be a classic sports car – something like a vintage 1966 Corvette or 1968 Camaro. I like these two cars because they represent class, quality, reliability and longevity. Also, they have stood the test of time, which is something I intend to do as well.

James Nesbit thrives on competition and wants to be the best in everything he does.

“My mentor in this business told me, ‘you’ll either love it and be in it for the rest of your life, or you’ll hate it and want out after two months,’“ he said about the world of mortgage finance. “I immediately loved it and knew this was the business for me. I am passionate about helping my clients achieve their dreams of home ownership by helping them get into the right loan for their family.”

One such case stands out. A couple had a dream of owning their own home before they turned 60.

“Together, we made a plan to restore their credit, start a savings plan, and develop a budget to help them achieve the dream of owning a home. The whole process took about two years and I was able to counsel them along the way,” he said.

When not working, Nesbit finds himself supporting the Hands On Children’s Museum of Olympia, Tumwater and Olympia High School sports, Lewis County’s youth rodeo and several little league programs. At the center of all Nesbit’s support is also cancer research at Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center of Seattle.
