Krysta Willoughby, ‘75 Development Manager Broadway Center for the Performing Arts

If you were a car, what model and make would you be and why?

I am my Isuzu Rodeo. Sure, it guzzles a bit of gas, but it is functional, reliable, not too flashy, not too dull, always ready for fun, and has an angel riding on its shoulder, too!

Krysta Willoughby isn’t shy about her career path.

“I’ve been a party girl from birth,” she said, noting that her family owns a party rental company in Arizona. So she grew up hauling tables and chairs to other people’s fundraisers.

“It was only natural that, after college, I was drawn to special events,” she said. She worked as the events manager for Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma and left after eight years for a similar job at Emergency Food Network.

“I now love my position as development manager for Tacoma’s downtown theaters,” she said. When not working, she would like to spend all the money she could afford on gardening supplies.

“Bricks, plants, laborers, and I’d totally fix up my backyard,” she said.
